MUSIC FAVOURITES: OCTOBER

Music Favourites: October

I don't know what it is, but the autumn weather, the shorter evenings, it just always leads to me spending all day inside, listening to music non-stop and daydreaming about everything that I can think of.
Since I'm practically a music addict, it was just a matter of time, that I would write about my favourite music, artists and their albums. There's no better way to update you all, than to share all the songs and albums I enjoyed listening to in October.
So, this month I did not only find some new favourites, but also rediscovered some songs and albums that I've been loving in the past. I wrote down my favourite songs off of each album, to create a little playlist for you all. I hope you enjoy it and maybe you even find some songs that will remain stuck in your head.

AUTUMN WISHLIST

Autumn Wishlist

Going for long walks in the countryside, seeing how the leaves are changing colour day by day and having a nice cup of tea are just a few things I enjoy at this time of the year. Autumn definitely is one of my favourite seasons, so I thought I'd share some of the things I've been lusting over for this autumn.

Since it's the middle of october, it also means that the weather is slowly changing and it's getting colder. I'm not too sad about not seeing the sun anymore, you might think I'm crazy, but I really enjoy cold weather with not a single spark sunshine peaking to the clouds. Therefore this coat I found on the Forever21 website is just the thing I need right now. I love the checkered/plaid pattern of this jacket  and with the colours being more on the darker side, you can pair it with absolutely everything. (Get this coat here)

Talking about checkered or plaid patterns, I'm also lusting over these three scarfs I found on Asos. I love the colour combinations, the patterns keep on reminding me of school uniforms (which we don't have where I live), and I only can imagine just how snugly and soft these scarfs are. (Get the scarfs herehere and here)

Also, I've been looking for a decent pair of Chelsea Boots for months and this pair by Monki just seems to be exactly what I wanted. They obviously are perfect for transitional weather and they just look so good. Only today my sister came home showing me her new pair of shoes and guess what she got. I might just have to 'borrow' them some time. (Get these Chelsea Boots here)

'Velvet Teddy' by MAC seems to be the perfect nude of all nude lipsticks. Since I don't wear bold lipsticks as much at this time of the year as in spring or summer, natural colours are what I usually go for. This nude would therefore be the perfect colour to wear on my lips right now and a lovely addition to my collection as well. (Get Velvet Teddy here)

Sticking to beauty related things, I would love to get the brushes featured in the 'Sam's Picks'-Collection by Real Techniques. I've always been using the cheapest make up brushes you can get at the drugstore, but now it's definitely time for an upgrade. (Get this brush set here)

Lastly I'm throwing in a lifestyle want, which is the cooking book 'Home Cooked' by Donal Skehan. I actually found out about him on Instagram, when I was looking through pictures on the popular page. Since then, I've been researching and spending some, maybe even a lot of time on his website or watching videos of him on youtube. He's so likeable and since I really enjoy cooking and baking, this would be a nice addition to my book shelf. (Get this book here)

What are the things you've been lusting over for autumn?

GLOSSYBOX POP ART EDITION

I'm sure, everyone of you has heard of GlossyBox before. For those who have not, it's basically a subscription service, where you sign up on their website and get asked about your favourite beauty products and other things, for example what your skin is like. Based on that, you get a box each month filled with goodies and maybe even some products that have been on your wish list for a while.
This is my first GlossyBox and I was way too excited, when I got the e-mail with the delivery date. That day I was in school until five o'clock, probably annoying my friend like never before, just because of my excitement. When I got home that day, I was so happy to actually see it standing on my desk.
I love art, I do some sketching and painting myself, so this Pop Art Edition was right up my street. The box and the packaging are just so colourful and eye-catching, that I was blown away by it. Obviously the box should be all about the products inside, but you can't deny that this month's GlossyBox does look kind of special, to me at least. You could say, that the products were just the cherry on top of the cake, in this case the box being the cake, but I was very impressed with the content of my GlossyBox as well.

Nails inc. London Matte Topcoat in Westminster Bridge
I was very happy to receive this nail polish, firstly, because I'm basically a topcoat hoarder and secondly, because I didn't have a nail polish by this brand in my collection until now.
Figs & Rouge Mango & Mandarin Shea Butter Hand Cream
I'm not a big fan of hand creams, because my skin is really sensitive and gets irritated quite easily. This hand cream though seems to be first, that does not only leave my skin soft, but also smells incredibly good.
Benefit b.right It's Potent! Eye Cream
I've been on the hunt for a good eye cream for a while and it looks like I have found the perfect one. This cream really does brighten up my eyes and just feels so rich and creamy on the skin. It also makes my concealer go on smoothly and how cute is the packaging?
So Susan Flutter Mascara
I'm quite picky, when it comes to mascara and I'll have to say that this isn't my kind of mascara. The brush is just really small and doesn't leave my lashes with any volume at all. The formula is so wet, that it leaves me looking like a panda, if I'm not careful while applying it.
Kneipp Mousse de Douche in Wachgeküsst
This is a german brand, as far as I know, that has a large variety of bath and body products. This product in particular, is a body wash, but it's texture is similar to a mousse (hence the name). It's weird to look at but it leaves my skin really moisturized. As well as the hand cream I mentioned earlier, this also smells divine.

Like I said, I couldn't be happier about September's GlossyBox. Which product of these would you like to try?

SEPTEMBER FAVOURITES

September has been a pretty busy month for me. I had two weeks left of my summer holidays, I also started my final year of school and I am already dreading all the studying I'll have to go through. But let's not worry about that yet. Since I've been in Spain visiting my family for a month, I had a lot of time to relax and just spend my days at the beach. While being there I had access to a lot of make up products that I usually don't find in stores near home, so it was all very exciting for me. I obviously had to sneak a music fav into my  september favourites, because music and I are like Hermoine and Ron!

One of my absolute favourites this month, has been the Bourjois 'Chocolate Bronzer'. Since I did get quite tanned on my holidays, this Bronzer matched my skin perfectly. I normally don't like shimmery products, but the shimmer doesn't even show of on the skin, it just leaves a really healthy looking glow.

Another product, which actually is a new addition to my collection, is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick by Kate Moss in the shade 111. I prefer a matte finish when it comes to lipsticks, so this one was right up my alley. I'm also quite surprised by my colour choice, because I'm usually a bit scared of wearing bold lipsticks myself. But this shade of red was just too beautiful to leave it behind in the store and I'm so happy for it to be mine now. It feels like this is actually a colour, that I can pull off without feeling weird.

The scent of the Especially Escada Elixir Eau de Parfum has left a trace everywhere I went the last month. Since describing scents isn't one of my strengths, I'll just tell you what it is supposed to smell like, according to the official Escada website: "rose petals with a crisp tone of pear, while aromatic ambrette seeds add a musky note". Basically it smells really nice and floral.

For my eye make up I loved using the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in the shade Bronze. The creamy texture just makes it so easy to apply on the upper lash line or on the water line. When being on holiday, I just used this without mascara or any other eye product. The bronze shade is also my favourite among the other colours I have.

What would a monthly favourites post be without the perfect nail polishes. This month I've been wearing the Rimmel 60 Seconds Rita Ora Nail Polishes in the shade White Hot Love and the Pop Art Top Coat, as well as the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blueberry. The blue and the white shades are already pretty on their own, but the Top Coat just adds a little something to the nails.

X by Ed Sheeran has been on replay basically for the last two months and I still can't get enough of it. He's just a lyrical genius and I still can't believe I got tickets to see him live on stage in November!
